Fitz Roy Circuit
El Chaltén & Los Glaciares
Granite spires catch alpenglow above glacial lakes. Wind funnels the valleys; camps sit under towers that look unfinished by ice.
$8,200–$12,200
Details →Granite spires, living ice, and a high desert corridor that has been a trade route for ten thousand years.
4 expeditions across patagonia & fjords, amazon & rainforest, deserts, salt & tablelands. Windows on offer: Nov–Mar · Oct–Apr · Year-round · Apr–Nov.
Argentina gives us two unrelated trips. In the south, El Chaltén is a trailhead town where the walks start on the street — no gate, no shuttle — and Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre stand behind it with the Southern Patagonian Icefield feeding weather onto them. Perito Moreno, an hour from El Calafate, is one of the few glaciers on earth that has held roughly stable while its neighbours retreat, and it calves constantly.
In the northwest, the Quebrada de Humahuaca runs north to south through folded sedimentary rock at 2,300–3,000 m, with the Hornocal ridge at 4,350 m above Humahuaca and the Salinas Grandes salt flat at 3,450 m to the west. Salta's high-altitude archaeology museum holds Inca burials recovered from above 6,000 m and is one of the most affecting museums on the continent.
Country-level constraints that decide whether a date is possible.

Most private journeys cross a border — the Atacama to Uyuni crossing, Copán into Guatemala, Iguazú from both sides. Tell us the shape you want and we will say whether the logistics hold together.
